Strength & Mobility Evaluation
for Runners (aka Running Readiness Assessment)
Is your body ready to run?
Every step you take while running loads your body with 4–6× your bodyweight. If your muscles, tendons, and movement patterns aren’t prepared to handle that stress, your risk of injury increases — often long before pain ever shows up.
My Strength & Mobility Assessment— which can also serve as a Return to Run Evaluation— is for runners in Orange County and is designed to evaluate the qualities that directly impact injury risk, running durability, and performance. Whether you’re returning after time off, starting a new training cycle, or building mileage, this assessment provides clarity on what your body truly needs.
As a Doctor of Physical Therapy specializing in runners, I evaluate key areas that influence running mechanics and long-term resilience.
What's included in the evaluation:
Lower body strength assessment tailored to the specific demands of running
Mobility assessment tailored to the specific needs of runners
Plyometric assessment (as appropriate)
Informal running analysis (see Elite Outdoor Running Analysis if you would like a formal running analysis geared towards performance or In-Clinic Running Analysis geared towards injury prevention)
Individualized recommendations for strengthening exercises, stretches, and running drills
Cueing on correct technique with your exercises
This comprehensive strength and mobility evaluation helps identify why certain injuries may keep recurring — such as shin splints, Achilles pain, runner’s knee, or hamstring tightness — and creates a clear, structured plan to address the root cause.
If you’re looking for a structured Return to Run Evaluation, want to improve performance, or reduce your risk of injury, this assessment provides a personalized roadmap to help you build strength, move efficiently, and train with confidence.
Serving runners throughout Orange County.
